Here you can add you favourite programs. Subfolders can be created as well.

Why another start menu?

The windows start menu get more and more crowded, and with Windows 7 and Vista using the start menu with the keyboard is impractical, except the search field.

For keyboard users the alternat start menu is the option to launch programs with just a few key strokes instead of may key strokes.

E.g. to launch PowerDVD, press
1. <Win + S>
2. <S> for the subfolder Soundtools
3. <P> to launch PowerDVD
=> 3 keys strokes

Windows start menu:
1. <windows key> to open the start menu
2. <p><o> and may be more keys to search
3. wait for the search results
4. <cursor down> may be several times to select PowerDVD
5. <Enter>
=> at least 5 key strokes
