Restore points / shadow copies

Compare e.g. the system drive with a restore point
Restore single or muiltiple files from a restore point

Restore points / shadow copies? What is that?

Windows creates automatically restore points, e.g. when you install a new pregram or updates.  And Restore points can be create manually. And you can define for which volumes/drives restore points will be cretaed and the amount of space reseverd for these restore points. Old restore points are removed by Windows automatically.
The technic behind these restore points is called volume shadow copies.

These shadow copies are not visible and you cannot access them with windows system tools. They are only meant to restore the complete system, in case e.g. after installing an update something is no longer working correct.

With PureSync now you can access these restore points, e.g. to analyse which files have been modified or added by an installation. And you can compare e.g. configuration files with the versrion prior to the installation.
